[So after a few days from his initial arrival, Steve finally decides to use the communicator he's given. He's not averse to using it, if the technology is helpful he's gonna work with it. He looks at the device, his expression friendly.]

Hello, this is Steve Rogers. Word is that I was here before, but guess that's happened to others too. Don't have my memories of that time, but I'm not against reintroducing myself and meeting anyone I've worked with before. [He's actually a little angry about that, but he's not showing it. It's sorta the opposite of waking up in New York, but still frustrating in its own way. Regardless, Steve remains calm and polite on the video feed.]

Not against meeting new soldiers- people, either. Trust in your comrades is always important. Doesn't matter what world you come from.

[He looks a little surprised.] That's right. You named after the winter spirit?

I kind of am the winter spirit.

[Small pause.] You're sayin' that you are the Jack Frost from folklore. [He doesn't sound disbelieving, just... making sure.]

Yeah. Y'know, snow, ice, cold and all that. That's all me.

Well, you're not the first guy I've met that's from mythology. [And being brought to Death City with all these soul abilities... it's not the strangest thing around.] From the look of things, probably won't be my last.

Then I should probably let you know, saying someones from "mythology"? Little bit insulting. Bad enough that people say you're not real when they can't see you, but talking to someone and they're still saying your a myth? Ouch.

[all said in good humor, of course. but deep down that still does sting a little.]

[Oops, Steve definitely feels a bit bad for insulting someone like this.]

I'm sorry, didn't quite realize that. [He'll definitely remember that when he sees Thor again. Steve smiles a little.] Won't happen again, promise.

Ok, seriously, chill out. No need for all this formality.

[He relents.] More of an informal guy?

I'm just all about fun. Formalities? Not so much.

Nothin' wrong with that. Only when it hurts others it stops being fun. [It's not like he wants everyone he meets to get involved in battle. It might be good to have someone bringing fun to the others here. Especially the kids, who shouldn't be in war in the first place.]

[saying that would probably be the quickest way to get on his good side.]

I'm careful. [except when traffic is involved, and a few unfortunate incidents of frostbite over the years.]

That's good to know. [Small pause] The current weather affecting you at all? Know it's warm right now. [He's a little concerned, he doesn't know how winter spirits really fare in this place.]

[aaaand his expression falls so fast it's honestly kind of funny.]

Warm is an extreme understatement. At this point I'd like to just lock myself in a freezer and stay there until this area goes through a climate shift. [even if he has to wait for a goddamn ice age.]

Least there's air conditioning. [And they're definitely handy, although Steve doesn't use it too often right now.]

I'm the spirit of ice and snow. I don't just want it to be "cool". I've been sleeping in a fridge because the AC doesn't go low enough for me to sleep comfortably.

That doesn't sound comfortable... There might be someone here that has the ability to make snow. Wouldn't be surprised with all of the other abilities I've seen here.

Unless you can still make some? [But with BREW taking away all abilities...]

Nothing works for me here. The wind doesn't even answer me, and their BREW thing took my staff.

Do you know what ability you received upon coming here?

I don't even know if I'm a weapon or whatever the other one's called.

I believe that people don't have to get involved in war if they don't want to, but it might help to know what ability you have just in case of an emergency.

I wanna get involved.

[the reply is immediate and he looks pretty stubborn about it. but the expression takes on a hesitant edge after a moment and he glances away.]

Just...well, I'm not really good with the whole...organized training sessions and mission sign-ups and all that. I'm just not built for anything structured or punctual or whatever. [he's kind of the opposite of military, sorry steve.] Besides, I tried going to one of those morning training things anyway and it was so sunny I ended up just sitting in the shade the whole time.

'fraid that most militaries need structure. Can't work alone in a war either.

There's an indoor gym inside Shibusen, if the morning sessions don't work out.
