The faster it's over, the sooner I get back to doing what's important to me. If I can be some help in that it's better for everyone, right? Anyway, What's the best way to do that? Is it a case of simply walking to the Shibusen, banging on the door and signing some liability waivers or...?

The first reason is fun, of course. Games are supposed to be fun. The Reaper's game isn't any different. A very small percentage of those which pass the system or win the game are needed elsewhere. Other than that, I have no idea. It's not exactly like I care, either.

The answer'll likely disappoint you, but sure. You can have fun with something and still get results. It's when something stops becoming fun that results tend to get stale. Anyway, the other reasons are because "fun" isn't exactly valid to the higher ups, not officially. The humanity thing and the other thing sounds way better.
