[There is quite abruptly a very upset teenage troll on the screen. He's glaring at the camera as if it has personally offended him. Normally he would have done this over text, but he wants to see familiar faces, and besides, the best speeches aren't given over text.]

Listen up, nooksniffers. Here's how this is going to go. I don't have time for this war. I'm already fighting in one, and that one I actually give a shit about. Since I can't leave until this place stops getting his ass kicked, the plan is to win this stupid war as quickly as possible so we can all get back to our miserable lives wherever we came from.

Okay? Good. So, what's being done around here to get everyone battle ready? Whatever it is, sign me up. I need to figure out this whole fucking "being a weapon" thing. [He even does the air quotes for added effect.] Talk to me about the training and shit. Otherwise, keep your squawk blisters shut and brutally destroy those Kishin things.

With one exception. [He raises his pointer finger at the camera. It is not the finger he's used to raising, and he very nearly flubs that up. He's used to giving speeches over text, alright. Maybe he should have done that instead...] I've already seen a couple of familiar faces around here, which leads me to believe there might be more somewhat tolerable assholes around here that I might be familiar with. If you are one of those losers, report to me so I know who's here and therefore not in as much grave danger. Worrying about you bulgelickers is a full time fucking job, alright, and I don't want to have to worry any more than I have to, because it's annoying as shit.

Alright, I'm out. [There's a little fumble and a muffled curse, along with a lovely view of the floor of Karkat's place in Casualty Communal before the feed cuts out.]

Oh, shit, sorry, I forgot most humans don't have them, for some stupid reason. If you want to hold a shit ton of items, or something that's just too big to carry around all god damn night, you put it in your sylladex, and it will go with you without you having to physically be holding it.

It was a weapon I carried inside myself. It responds to the strength of the user's heart.

Woah, holy shit inside yourself? How do you get it out? And how do you know how strong your heart is?

I call for it. I'm not sure how else to describe it, but as long as my heart doesn't falter, it will come to me when I call for it.

[They're now skirting dangerously close to Keyblade wielded only knowledge...]

If your heart wasn't strong to begin with, it wouldn't react to you and you can't become it's wielder.

What exactly do you mean by strong? I'm assuming you don't mean physically, so how the hell do you know if your heart is strong enough?

It can mean a lot of things. [Even she's not too sure.] But I guess, to me a strong heart is one that won't falter in the face of adversity and one that stays true to the path you choose.

You don't always know if someone's heart is strong enough. There's...no real way to tell for sure most of the time. [Except when you found one that was exceptionally strong.] And sometimes they become stronger because of the trials they go through. It's entirely possible for someone to have the potential to wield it but, until they get to that point, be unable to call upon it.

Huh. So a lot of people can do it then. _{[After all, all his friends have been through a lot of trials, and most of them have a path they stick to.]}

So, uh, you used your heart or whatever to transform?

Maybe. I know there used to be a lot more people who could wield this weapon compared to the numbers there were during my time.

...I guess. [She shook her head.] I'm sorry but I don't really know how to explain this. My Weapon form is the weapon I used back home, so whenever I transform it feels like I'm just calling on it again. [The results though, are different here than back home.]

How the fuck do you teach people if you can't even explain how you do it? _{[It's not meant as an insult he just doesn't understand how she can teach it.]}

[She wouldn't have taken it as one anyway.]

I teach it the way I was first taught to transform here. I can't explain how I do it myself because it's difficult to explain to anyone without the same abilities I had back home.

But I hadn't realized it would be so similar at first. It kind of surprised me until I realized what I turned into.

And, in case the way that worked for me doesn't work for everyone else, I try to pay attention when the instructors are teaching and I'm not. [It could never hurt to know a few more ways to teach someone how to transform.]

That makes sense I guess. Do you get paid for teaching all the new people BREW's dragged in, or did you volunteer for that shit? _{[Karkat can't imagine it's that great of a job, so he kind of hopes she gets paid.]}

I volunteered. I already have a steady income as a member of the Watch, so I don't really need to be paid extra.

Oh, you're doing the Watch thing too, huh? I'm thinking of joining, once I actually know how to be useful.

I've been a part of it since I arrived. [She was literally recruited the day of her arrival.] We'd be glad to have you.

[She pauses.]

Actually, you were in the Watch last time you were here too.

Dave was telling me about when the Watch was severely understaffed, and it's kind of important that we don't let that happen again, especially if we'll have a shit ton of people leaving for large scale missions like this all the time.

I'm not surprised. Combat is about the only thing I'm good at, and I've heard it pays. Besides, there are people here I want to protect, even if some of them are in the Watch anyway.

[She's not as bad as she used to be...? Sort of.] It would definitely help to have more people during these large scale missions and even on normal days. It would be a lot safer if we could have at least two people on each shift in each area. [But that is sadly not possible at the moment.]

I'm sure they appreciate it.

Maybe we should do some advertising or something? Hell, the way Neji approached me about joining the Watch when I first got here was good, but because he was so fucking professional about it, I figured they'd have plenty of people on board. Maybe more people would join if they knew we have a lot of opening. It's for their own fucking good, and you get paid, so why wouldn't they?

Yeah, well, they're my friends, so they better fucking appreciate it.

I think the problem was that for a while we kept losing people who were in charge. When the original commander left, all his second-in-commands were sent back by BREW almost at the same time. [That certainly hadn't been a fun time...]

Advertising will probably help though. [Speaking of advertising...]

I'm not sure if anyone's told you, but there are keychains of you around the city. [Just so you're not surprised or anything.]

Yeah, which is why they've got a better chain of command system now. That way if Neji gets sent home, there's someone to take over, even if all his seconds leave too.

I--what? _{[Give him a second to process this.]} People are buying keychains....of me. _{[But why? He's not cute or appealing in any way. Why the fuck would people want to carry around a Karkat keychain? Do they even know him? Oh god, he hopes Signless doesn't have one.]} Why would people want a keychain that looks like me?

I mentioned before that you were in the Watch the last time you were here, right? You were one of the Zone Leaders back then and during that time Metokkori R came out with a line up of keychains made to look like the Zone Leaders, second-in-commands and the Commander of the Watch.

[They were actually all pretty cute, she had to admit.]

Oh. _{[Holy shit, he was a zone leader? Other him must have been pretty badass.]} And, he didn't stop selling them when I left?

It was a limited time offer so he stopped after a while.

But you still see some people using them now and then.

I don't think your keychain was the most common one, so you probably won't see it that often, at least.

I still don't understand how it was popular at all? My face isn't on par with anything less than a god damn trash can, and don't feed me some bullshit intended to make me feel better about myself. I don't give a shit about my appearance, and I don't care what anyone thinks about my face. But I know I'm not attractive and never will be. So. Why the fuck would anyone want to carry around my face for the world to gawk at? Did Keroko give my keychain face some serious plastic surgery?
