Recent conversations have sparked some curiosity in me.

We all come from different worlds and different times, and I can't help but wonder what some of the common myths, legends, and fairy tales are in these times and places. Such things can be very telling of the people from which they come and I think I might enjoy making a collection of sorts and analyzing them.

So, Death City, if you would be so kind tell me about your worlds and the stories you've been raised on. The more detail the better, and if you know anything of their origin that is better yet.

So a great many colors. An odd term but it would make sense in the context of your culture.

Ind33d. How did the term vampire come about?

[draculabackwards]

It is a similar sounding word coming from several different cultures that describe the same term: a blood sucking human who comes back from the dead. In my own culture, we call them "strigoi."

What stories could you tell me about them? I'm curious if there are any other differences other than name.

[draculabackwards]

I could tell you quite a few things about them. *Oh you have no idea.* Where would you like me start?

[She tries to think of what she doesn't know about rainbow drinkers, and the first question comes immediately.]

How is a vampire born?

[draculabackwards]

Being bitten by another vampire in a specific manner. That is to be repeatedly bitten and then enslaved to that vampire so the body gradually changes.

[scribes]

...enslaved? What do you mean by that?

[draculabackwards]

A person loses their will and becomes a slave or becomes a vampire themselves.
