Recent conversations have sparked some curiosity in me.

We all come from different worlds and different times, and I can't help but wonder what some of the common myths, legends, and fairy tales are in these times and places. Such things can be very telling of the people from which they come and I think I might enjoy making a collection of sorts and analyzing them.

So, Death City, if you would be so kind tell me about your worlds and the stories you've been raised on. The more detail the better, and if you know anything of their origin that is better yet.

[To be laughed at was a little embarrassing but hey, at least she wasn't frowning. It was a win-win as far as he was concerned.]

Where would you be growing? [What could a troll possibly grow? He really appreciated how easy-going she was. It made it fun to talk to her, as odd as it was to be talking to her - or anyone, for that matter.]

Oh uh... beaten up rice? You'd make it by cooking rice and then pounding it down in a motar. [And he tries to demonstrate as he speaks, mimicking how a mallet should be held and swung down into the motar.] ...It's pretty good. You can make a lot of things with a base like that. Like desserts, soups, rice cakes... stuff like that.
