But since Genesis is bedridden in the Horrorspital due to his extensive injuries, people are very free to go bother him in person. In all these messages, Genesis sounds confident yet strained, as if clearly enduring intense pain with a calm face.]

Just so you are all made aware, during the mission in San Jose, my partner and I faced off against a witch after a battle against a terribly strong kishin egg. I protected him. And because of that, I sustained terrible injuries to my entire torso, as well as my right shoulder and arm. I think this has been the worst I've experienced throughout my stay here in Death City.

Not to worry, though. I don't intend to stay here long. Expect me to return to the field in a week or two. Meanwhile, Fabiola-- if you are well, please act in my stead on the field and report to me in person daily. Neji-- thank you for your hard work watching over my Zone while I was away.

Ah, and before I forget-- if there is a clerk free to coordinate with me while I am here in the clinic, I would gladly appreciate the assistance with my duties as a liaison to the Detective Agency.

[Genesis looks over his communicator at the wolf lying at the foot of the bed. His arrival from San Jose was all a blur, but he remembers well the madness that dared to enter his mind: images of Jenova reaching out to him, taking him by the collar, telling him that he belonged to her.

But all of a sudden, that was gone from his mind and he found himself able to rest soundly.]

... Amaterasu?

[At her name, her head is up and turned in his direction. Her tail flops, but she just stretches out, paw pads spreading, but then she curls her forepaws under her. Yup, it's her. Good morning... or afternoon really.]

What are you doing here?

[She tilts her head, confused. What does he mean? She glances around and nods. Juuust working...]

Wruf!

[Actually, Genesis doesn't know that Amaterasu was with the clinic. Or that her calming wavelength was helping him with the madness caused by the Black Blood.]

Did you come by to visit?

[Staring for a moment, she shakes her head. That's not it.]

Do you... [And then he says it slowly, as if unsure.] work here?

[She nods. Ding ding! That would be correct.]

I didn't know dogs could take a job here. But then again, you're a special one.

[She grins, proud to hear that.]

So, what exactly do you do here? [He actually isn't sure what options to give to see what she'll give a yes to, though.]

[Ah, that... well, he asked. She gets up a little, moves higher... and then proceeds to laying down again, but much closer this time. Her head lays over his lap while her tail flops again, soul releasing its ability still.]

[And it is only at that moment when he realizes that the one who saved him from the madness running through his system was her.]

[He closes his eyes and sets down the communicator in his left hand. Afterwards, he moves it now so he could give Ammy's neck a good scratch.]

[She stared, but then eventually shook her head. It's been a while. Genesis had been an emergency case.]

[He should be, he thinks. After all, his current state was because he protected him from the worst of the Witch's attacks. He gently pets Amaterasu, glad that she is there with him.]

[She gives a slight nod, keeping her head low enough though to get all the pets.]
