[Below is a series of locked messages sent to various personnel in the Watch and the Detective Agency. But since Genesis is bedridden in the Horrorspital due to his extensive injuries, people are very free to go bother him in person. In all these messages, Genesis sounds confident yet strained, as if clearly enduring intense pain with a calm face.]

Just so you are all made aware, during the mission in San Jose, my partner and I faced off against a witch after a battle against a terribly strong kishin egg. I protected him. And because of that, I sustained terrible injuries to my entire torso, as well as my right shoulder and arm. I think this has been the worst I've experienced throughout my stay here in Death City.

Not to worry, though. I don't intend to stay here long. Expect me to return to the field in a week or two. Meanwhile, Fabiola-- if you are well, please act in my stead on the field and report to me in person daily. Neji-- thank you for your hard work watching over my Zone while I was away.

Ah, and before I forget-- if there is a clerk free to coordinate with me while I am here in the clinic, I would gladly appreciate the assistance with my duties as a liaison to the Detective Agency.

[Steve continues to smile, looking a little amused by their conversation as well.]

You've figured me out, I am terrible and underhanded.

[He makes a face at him, trying to look absolutely displeased at him.]

[Steve still looks amused, it's been a while since he's actively joked with another soldier.]

Gonna tell others about my horrible misdeed?

Hmph. Maybe I will, maybe I won't.

Should I be worried?

Maybe.

[A mischievous grin there.]

[He notices the grin.] Already plotting my demise, huh? Last time I underestimate a guy lying down in the hospital.

[And Genesis laughs-- the sound is pretty weak, however, as his torso was still the most painful part of his body.]

You'll see. I won't let you have your way.

[Steve becomes a little more serious when he hears the weak laugh.]

Wouldn't think you'd let me off that easy. [pause] Do you want anything to eat or drink?

Mm. I'm alright. It's a little painful, but I'm fine.

[itsfondue]

[He nods a little at that.] The mission went okay otherwise?

[recitings]

Yes, it did. We were able to save the people, despite the witches and the Kishin Eggs.

[itsfondue]

I'm glad to hear that. Everyone has pulled through, no causalities?

[recitings]

Mm... I believe so. I haven't heard any report yet. But I'm optimistic, despite the presence of a Witch in the area we fought in.

[itsfondue]

They're definitely not pushovers. Haven't fought one myself, although I've talked to an allied Witch before.

[recitings]

An allied witch?

[itsfondue]

Yes, didn't catch her name and I haven't seen her around lately, but she showed me some of her powers. [She was a bit rude too.] Mostly, her ability to summon lions.

I see... it's a good thing who you met was an ally.
