Last few days were so much fun. Black Mesa is back in business. For those who don’t know what Black Mesa is, it's a House Call Technician business, and we fix computers, broadcasting and wireless systems, business equipment and security systems. If anyone is interested or just wants a job, call me maybe.

We are going put up cameras all over the city. More, at least. Ones that will actually capture when few people are being kidnapped on the streets after being chloroformed. The Detective Agency will supervise this since it’s for them.

Thanks for breaking into my place, setting off the alarm and starting the program to erase everything I had in my three computers. That was really awesome and completely necessary. Near, we are also ready to start setting up the cameras. Whenever you are ready.

What do you want?

Primarily, someone that thinks outside the box with code. Useful programs on mine have been uninstalled upon arrival. I'm told it's BREW, but that's neither here nor there. The hardware appears to be quite intact, though everything useful doesn't work simply because certain drivers have been removed.

Secondarily, I'm after someone with discretion due to the nature of what's on there and a skilled hand. It's not like I want it bricked because someone just threw what they know or don't know and saw if it stuck. Knowing Japanese helps too, it's a circa-2007 Docomo and won't do english.

Drivers can be re-introduced into the cellphone, but remember that if they were removed by BREW, it was because it was considered to be something unnatural to this world. In other words, I can code something similar to it, but never something out of this world - literally. I'm limited by this world, so to speak. Can also do the later. I know Japanese and I am skilled. You can breathe over my shoulder if you want to make sure.

The function I'm looking at getting restored is a tracker. It was designed to track a certain wavelength. Since "similar" can also mean "upgrade", that wavelength is something which won't exist here, so other energy spikes is actually a considerable improvement. If that can be done in theory since the actual tracking hardware is still inside the phone, I'll drop by with it and see if you can say for certain it can be done.

It's also quite a mundane thing, but if you can put together a charger as well I'd appreciate it. The battery's starting to run low.

[ Actually, that is a pretty awesome feature. And in this world, they do have wavelengths. But to track specific wavelengths through a cellphone isn't just about coding and programming, he'd have to get into Shibusen and soul specific technology. Lucky him, one of his employees is Tony Stark RIGHT? ]

In theory, that could be done in this world. Perhaps not the wavelength you'd hope for, but there are wavelengths here - of course it all depends on what exactly you wish to track. but either way, I'd like to take a look at the hardware. And that's easy. I just need to make a proper adapter.

I'm quite interested in tracking the Madness. If that's doable, I'll be sure to pop in soon if you send me your offices' coordinates. I'm expecting you'll give me an estimate as to how much this little project will cost when you've had a look?

[ Joshua will find a red hair man playing on his DS. His face looks a bloody mess - courtesy of the kidnappers - and on his lips there is a cigarette. The front desk area is rather small and there isn't much to see besides computer and gaming magazines for the clients to read.

When the other comes in, his eyes move from the game. There is only one person he is expecting, so he knows who this is ]

[Ouch. His eyes scan the red haired guy's face, the same smile still on his lips. Of course, he didn't know that Matt was one of the kidnapees so he merely wonders vaguely who could have been pissed off at him enough to give him such a beating - and of course what someone like this could have done to deserve it. The thought's gone after a moment though, and his smile simply widens.]

Mhm, that's me. Though I suppose if you're wanting to do this project, I might as well tell you my name. It's Joshua, by the way.

[And! He produces the said cell from his pocket.]

Before we get started, I do want you to know the very most I can offer toward payment is what everyone started with when they get here. Though of course, neither of us really want our time wasted. I can probably scrape together some money by the end of this month, if financing this is an option. Or we could do a trade.

I'm Matt. [ Matt finishes his cigarette in two puffs before he puts it out. And then, he eyes the cellphone ]

[ he reaches for the cellphone, however, focus on the charger's port. If he wants to work with it, he will need to recharge the cellphone first. ]

[And he hands it over without any complaint. After all, he is ridiculously attached to the thing, but it's useless if it can't at least have some of it's function restored. The camera which takes pictures of the past is obviously never going to work here. Nor the function to remotely control Shibuya. But the tracker...]

Only that you could copy the original programming for the tracker for future use with your projects if you find it interesting. It's only the drivers which are missing, the base values are still there. And might save you a few weeks or months of migraines if you were to go about putting something similar together yourself. The original programmer was...

[A being with much more mental capacity and creative power than any human. And gifted, with ability beyond most of his kind. Joshua is pretty sure Matt's some kind of genius, but all humans have limits - something the original programmer certainly didn't have.]

Pretty special. But I imagine the offer's quite inane. While you're working on it anyway I'm sure you can copy whatever you like without me knowing a thing. If you were dishonest, of course. I'm sure you're running quite a legitimate operation here.

[ ah, but while Matt doesn't consider himself dishonest per say, he can be considered "chaotic neutral" in terms that he might save your life, but might steal your car. In this care, he will definitively copy everything he finds on that phone.

Of course I am. But alright. Let's make this a trade, since it partially interests me. [ who doesn't want to track madness wavelength? ] But the charger, that's for you to pay. As well as some accommodation fees, because I will have to search few things for this.

[ Matt looks at the charger port as she speaks. ]

What you want will involve technology existent only to this world; soul-relate and wavelength related. Which Shibusen would not give us for free. [ he finally looks at Joshua ]

You understand the need to be discreet about this. If I brought this to them, they would probably lock us out, not allow it and take this for themselves. [ they are guests, after all, wanting to get their hands on specific technology. Matt doubts Shibusen is that naive to let them do as they please ]

[He nods at the fact he'll have to pay for the charger, knowing what money he's got on arrival is probably enough. Creating an appropriate jack for the device is the most difficult part - everything else is pretty much buying any old charger available in Death city and just fitting a series of resistors to the circuit to ensure the voltage is brought down to specification. So. He merely tilts his head.]

You've nothing to worry about regarding me, as you've already observed. If anything, it's a good thing that both of us stand on the same playing field. It means nothing nefarious can happen - at least without consequences.

[It's insurance to ensure that all is fair and all is good. Matt stands to lose by having the program, exactly as Joshua does. But. hypothetically, if either of them are caught and their devices destroyed, there's always a backup with the other person. Provided the one caught remains silent as to the other copy of the program. ]

When can you start?

[ Matt nods; he has someone who will help him with this already, and two heads think better than one. Hopefully he can make this happen since it doesn't interest Joshua and Matt only - something like this would be a good advantage for anyone fighting the witches. ]

I can start now. [ and he will. When he sets his mind to something, Matt doesn't stop (not even to sleep, unfortunately). ]

Great. Then consider me an accessory for your shoulder for however long it takes. It's not like I have anything to do anyway, and you already said it wasn't an issue so I'll hold you to that if you don't mind.
