[There is quite abruptly a very upset teenage troll on the screen. He's glaring at the camera as if it has personally offended him. Normally he would have done this over text, but he wants to see familiar faces, and besides, the best speeches aren't given over text.]

Listen up, nooksniffers. Here's how this is going to go. I don't have time for this war. I'm already fighting in one, and that one I actually give a shit about. Since I can't leave until this place stops getting his ass kicked, the plan is to win this stupid war as quickly as possible so we can all get back to our miserable lives wherever we came from.

Okay? Good. So, what's being done around here to get everyone battle ready? Whatever it is, sign me up. I need to figure out this whole fucking "being a weapon" thing. [He even does the air quotes for added effect.] Talk to me about the training and shit. Otherwise, keep your squawk blisters shut and brutally destroy those Kishin things.

With one exception. [He raises his pointer finger at the camera. It is not the finger he's used to raising, and he very nearly flubs that up. He's used to giving speeches over text, alright. Maybe he should have done that instead...] I've already seen a couple of familiar faces around here, which leads me to believe there might be more somewhat tolerable assholes around here that I might be familiar with. If you are one of those losers, report to me so I know who's here and therefore not in as much grave danger. Worrying about you bulgelickers is a full time fucking job, alright, and I don't want to have to worry any more than I have to, because it's annoying as shit.

Yeah, I've heard of him. It figures he'd be here. I'm surprised he hasn't popped up to bug the shit out of me already. How did he find out about me, though? Oh shit, he talked to the other me. The one that was here before me, right? The one that I don't remember fucking being.

I am certain that is the way of it. That sort of thing seems to happen often around here--some return with their memories, others without.

Does everyone in this god damn place know more than I do? I'm not going to lie it is fucking awful having everyone know your name and you have no idea who the hell they are. Well, in your case, I know some things, but I really don't know anything about your personality and shit besides what I can infer.

I am sorry. I did not mean to make you uncomfortable--though I should have guessed having a stranger know about you would elicit that feeling in anyone.

If it's any consolation I do not believe you are the first to experience this--nor will you likely be the last since BREW is constantly ushering out and bringing in new people. If it also helps I would be willing to answer any and all questions you have about the people here, or Shibusen to the best of my ability.

Yeah, I heard it's pretty common actually. Which makes absolutely no sense, but I shouldn't expect any sense out of this place anyway. I mostly need to know who I should look out for. Besides the Condensce, I know about her.

Who to watch out for? [Hum. Obviously the Condesce is the big one but]

Some of the natives have gotten a bit restless with our presence--citizens, that is so not all of them will take kindly to outsiders so it's good to gauge their reactions to you. For the most part most of them are still happy to help but it's good to be on your toes.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else to be particularly wary of.

How can you tell who's a native? I mean, obviously trolls aren't native, but the rest of the people just look human.

It's mostly something you just pick up after being here a while.

Some indicators are that most of the student population at Shibusen, most of the shop keepers and home owners are natives. Guests mostly keep a handful of buildings given to them by Shibusen--the largest of which includes the Casualty Communal.

Yet that just makes them very likely to be natives--some people who have wanted to make this place their own have started their own businesses.

Why would they want to make a business here. It's not like they're going to stay. We're all going back once this idiotic war is over.

Why wouldn't I want to? Besides, even if I did want to stay, my friends are in danger, and I like to think they need my help.

Some people don't have something to return to--some even in the most literal of manners. BREW has been known to bring the dead back to life. Or perhaps they feel they can build a better life here. Doubtless those are the ones who choose to stay.

[She smiles, proud of his loyalty but feeling it'd be a bit awkward and too familiar for her to comment on it.]

That largely depends on my companions' feelings on the matter, but if it were my choice I would wish for us to stay.

[And hope that Dolorosa returns, or that they are able to wish her back at the end of it all]

You mean...Signless, right? Yeah, if I was dead then I'd probably want to stay too. Dream bubbles are awful to visit let alone be in all the time.

I have only heard of them, but they do sound unpleasant. Especially with no assurance you will be with the people you want, if I understand them correctly.

Huh. I can guess who's ancestor Psiioniic is. Sollux is his descendant right? What about Dolorosa?

For me, I either have to deal with shitheads or friends that I actually miss when I go there, so there' not that great. Yeah, but they're shift, so you're bound to find a version of a troll you're looking for eventually. It might take some time though.

That is correct. As for the Dolorosa, she is Kanaya's ancestor, and a more caring troll you couldn't hope to find.
