[It's a Saturday morning! Lovely day to walk your dog, or see the (death-themed, skull-studded) sights, or just kick back and relax before the next big invasion with a bowl of cereal and Saturday morning cartoons. Or...you can give a little public service announcement because of all the people BREW has been sending home. Those lucky ducks. Edgeworth has mixed feelings about this - relief because they're better off back home (with the exception of a few who have grown to prefer Death City, maybe), but also unease because the Agency lineup has dropped to a paltry 5-strong team. Why was BREW targeting the Agency in particular?
Oh, and he is 2 days shy of spending a full year in Death City after the rest of the folk from his home have been long gone. Lawyer pride! More like combat lawyer pride...?
His expression is pensive, and his eyes like gathering storm clouds. He exhales slowly from where he is seated at a...dining table. An immaculate dining table, mind. A thick novel is off to one side, on top of a small stack of files.]
With BREW sending home more people and summoning less, the Kuzunoha Detective Agency has suffered heavy losses. While it is generally better to be home and mind one's business than to fight another world's war, it does not bode well for the rest of us remaining.
[A beat. His brows furrow, and he folds his arms across his chest.]
The Agency, the heart of the guests' investigatory and archival efforts which closely coordinates with the Watch, presently has five members. Once again, I would like to extend an invitation toward those who have had experience in these fields - or those willing to learn. Not only are we looking for agents, we need a secretary, a janitor, guards and messengers. Contact me or Near, if you are interested, and either of us [read: usually Edgeworth] will set an interview with you.
[Yeah, the links to their inboxes are right thar. He makes a move as if to switch the communicator off at that point, but withdraws his hand.]
Lastly, a question for all of you: How long have you been here? [Many of the people who have been in Death City for much longer than a year were already gone. Despite knowing that BREW was far less predictable than a game of roulette, that did not stop Edgeworth from trying to puzzle out why it was suddenly bringing home more people in proportion to the number of newcomers they got every month. Was BREW finalizing its lineup for a final confrontation with the witches of sorts? Or was this just another day in the life of a demon tool?]

Hmph. Of course not. I possess Soul Talk, which allows me to convince others to believe or obey me.

[ Hold that train of thought for just a moment..
.. or maybe two moments.. ]
Wait a sec, ain't that shit illegal?!

And there was the time he got people's attention to use it on them as a study. Edgeworth was really careful about ethics and stuff that time.]

[ Only Josuke can be threatening and polite at the same time. It's the pompadour, man. The pompadour. ]

[He gives Josuke a very hard look. Wow, seriously? You're suspecting him of evil evil things? Well, Edgeworth isn't threatened easily because Manfred von Karma is a far more intimidating sight.
...Even if he doesn't have a pompadour.]
I only "mess" with people when they have my full permission, or if the alternative is watching them die a horrible death.

Well, if you say so, I'll believe it, but.. if there's any weird case involving that shit, then I'll know who the culprit is, just sayin'!
no subject
Hmph. I highly doubt you will encounter such a case.
