Water's fine [[says softly as he half drifts to the couch, sitting down a bit heavily.]]

[He nods and gets him some from the tap before sitting down next to him.]

So.. I don't know what to say. Losing a friend's always a fucked up feeling.

[[He nods, looking down at the cup of water in his hands]]

Even knowing that this sort of thing happens here.... I had hoped... [[he trails off]] I hate this feeling.... I hate that there's nothing I can ever do about it. [[he speaks with a very quiet intensity, fingers tightening around the glass.]]

[He makes an unhappy face since he knows this feeling just too well.]

It's hard but all we can do is keep on living despite it.

[[nods, expression miserable]] And hoping that it stops...

[[he's quiet a moment]]

I used to think I was cursed... when everything started happening back home.. every time I tried to make friends... I thought it had to be. That I must have done something horrible in a past life that meant no matter how hard I tried in this one, I'd always be left behind and alone. I though that finally ended with Yuugi-kun and everything... that dying to stop it all... it was enough. I don't want it to start happening again, Leo, I'm not strong enough to go through that hell again...

[Ouch! Damn, no wonder the kid got that damn clingy the first moment somebody was nice to him. If he kept losing every connection he had.. ]

What about your family? [Humans had families that were there for them, right? And what does he mean with 'hoping that dying would make it stop'-?]

[[a long pause]] Amane and Mother died when I was 6... [[said in a very very soft voice.]]

What about your father?

My father... he has his work. I haven't gotten to live with him since the 3rd time I had to move.

So he just left you alone?!

What else could he do...? With how often I had to move.... there was no way he could have stayed with me even if he wanted to.

[His face darkens.]

Bullshit! Why'd you have to move and he can stay where he is?

Because of work... [[said very softly]] Everytime I had to change schools... there was no way he could change where he was working every time...

And why did you have to change schools? [He's trying to get it, really. But right now he can't make either head nor tail of the logic that must've been used.]

Because all of my friends would fall into comas when I played games with them... [[And there was no way he could bear the silent accusations and social shunning that followed...]]

[[a small nod, his hand going over his chest where the scars from the Ring lay hidden]]

[He notices the gesture and his eyes narrow.]

'He'? Who, he? [He doesn't like the sound of this at all, but he's still got not enough pieces to make sense of anything.]

[[shakes his head. He knows there's no way he can explain the Ring's Voice, there's no way he would even know how. It was starting to get into dangerous territory, things he shouldn't say, things that sounded crazy even to his own ears!]]

[He gives him a slightly worried look but stays silent in order to give him time.]
