[Below is a series of locked messages sent to various personnel in the Watch and the Detective Agency. But since Genesis is bedridden in the Horrorspital due to his extensive injuries, people are very free to go bother him in person. In all these messages, Genesis sounds confident yet strained, as if clearly enduring intense pain with a calm face.]

Just so you are all made aware, during the mission in San Jose, my partner and I faced off against a witch after a battle against a terribly strong kishin egg. I protected him. And because of that, I sustained terrible injuries to my entire torso, as well as my right shoulder and arm. I think this has been the worst I've experienced throughout my stay here in Death City.

Not to worry, though. I don't intend to stay here long. Expect me to return to the field in a week or two. Meanwhile, Fabiola-- if you are well, please act in my stead on the field and report to me in person daily. Neji-- thank you for your hard work watching over my Zone while I was away.

Ah, and before I forget-- if there is a clerk free to coordinate with me while I am here in the clinic, I would gladly appreciate the assistance with my duties as a liaison to the Detective Agency.

[She's present lying at the foot of the bed, ears rising when he decides to post over the network, but then falling again when he's done. He'll be fine in due time of course, but that's mainly physically. Apparently, he had been infected by black blood. Definitely no good to someone already physically inhibited.]

[Genesis looks over his communicator at the wolf lying at the foot of the bed. His arrival from San Jose was all a blur, but he remembers well the madness that dared to enter his mind: images of Jenova reaching out to him, taking him by the collar, telling him that he belonged to her.

But all of a sudden, that was gone from his mind and he found himself able to rest soundly.]

Most of the assailants were apprehended. Attacks were focused on Death City Heights and Reaper Residence. A few launched attacks on Creeping Crypts, but ceased once refugees from the Nocturne Bazaar began fleeing. There were a number who became out of hand, attacking whatever and whomever they came across, but they were dealt with accordingly.

[Kotetsu had been preparing himself to shoot off some good old concerned complaints about how Genesis needed to just relax and try to rest up as soon as possible, and even though he was thrown slightly off track after he'd suddenly been asked about him and his daughter, he still wasn't quite convinced enough to let Genesis get by scott-free.]

Oh! W-we're fine! We managed well! Thankfully I got her to a safe place just in time. The animals too. --and, your dogs. I brought them along with her too. Hope that's okay... but, you sure you should be asking about us? You sound like a mess, and I bet you look like one. Just take it easy and get better. We can talk later.

Ah. I'm glad. Are my dogs still with you both?

[Genesis sighs and shakes his head.]

I will have to admit that this has been the worst injury I've gotten since I first stepped into this city. And to an extent, it is somewhat worse than anything I've experienced in the army. Things are different when you are the weapon and not the fighter for a change.

To be honest with you, I only really poked my head in, in hopes of finding my partner. I'm looking for him but in all of this wreck I have yet to find him... [ She stops, standing still for a moment and hoping that in all the passing people she might catch a glimpse of that ugly orange jump suit she'd given him so much hell for. She'd probably never be happier to see that ugly outfit ever again than she would be right now. ]

A small bit of fire damage - but mostly just things being smashed. It's fine - they're all replaceable.

[He was actually surprised to hear from Genesis. The lateness of the message left him wondering if the once-SOLDIER had been unconscious until not long before the message, but Sephiroth spoke none of his thoughts as his tone remained neutral.]

[He takes a breath. He isn't sure if he should tell him about seeing Jenova in his dreams. But he's hoping that it was just a one-time event-- that it was just something that came with facing madness in such a high level.]
