☆ 002 | TEXT | 2/06 ☆
[He'd been keeping out of the way during the recent chaos for the most part, his strong sense of self-preservation leaving him disinclined to take up an active roll - that, and he may still have been sulking just a little over the results of a run-in with a certain detested someone while under the influence of the contaminated water - but that doesn't mean he hasn't been watching. On the contrary, he'd quite enjoyed witnessing the turmoil produced by recent events, and has been keeping a careful eye on the DEMISE network just to make certain he doesn't miss anything that might be useful to him, later.
But now all the chaos has died down and he's feeling a little bored, so he deems it time to re-engage with Death City society]
Ah well, that was certainly a baptism by fire! So much has happened, and all in the last ten days since my arrival. Witches and kidnappings and chaos in the streets, even potential serial killings on top of it all; enough to unnerve or at least unsettle most people, I would have thought. Is this the level of danger we'll be facing on a regular basis, I wonder? I'd been led to believe otherwise.
How many of you did the attacks convince to fight as we've been brought here to do? How many were dissuaded? I myself am still undecided.
The list of deaths and casualties was fairly high, so my condolences to anyone who's experienced a recent loss or disappearance. It's strange and perhaps a little disorientating to find ourselves in a situation like this, and that must be made significantly worse if the people you know - either those you've met since arriving here or those you might have known from home - are lost or threatened. Unless those people were ones you found threatening, I suppose, which is always a possibility.
Which leads me to another question! Have many people here chosen to locate partners amongst those they knew before coming to Death City? Or is it more common to pair off with those you've only just met? I suppose I'm feeling a little curious.

But after this attack, it's clear I need to find a partner, for self-defense.

Ah, hello? [ Testing it once before she continues speaking. ] What I was saying is, I think it just depends on you and who you feel most comfortable with. Some people would prefer resonating with those they're familiar with. [ Which had, more or less, been her case upon her immediate arrival. ] But, I think an equally large fraction pair up with those they become acquainted with here.

I like that answer ☆ People and their preferences all seem to differ from case to case after all, and I suppose there's no reason for this to be any different.

It did, but it wasn't so very bad. I guess I was fortunate. How about yourself, were you adversely affected?

And how did you fare, I wonder?
[Minus one protozoan oaf throwing benches at him while suffering increased fear of death and heightened paranoia from the contaminated water, but he doesn't want to talk about that :T]

it's too bad the people i know from home aren't any fun to be around! and it wouldn't be good to restrict myself! i want to partner with someone new~ ♥
no subject
That's a fair point; there's no guarantee that people will get along just because they're from the same place, after all. And new experiences are often interesting ☆

And choosing to partner with someone you already know from your world might... make it easier for the partnership to progress more quickly. [If not more smoothly.]
[Text]
That seems likely. Unless of course the people you know here are a little less than fond of you, of course.

[Haruka figures that he's faking the chipperness, just like she does - so she doesn't question it, even though it feels a little... off.]
Um, I'm still undecided too, when it comes to fighting. I want to help, but I don't want to hurt anybody that's innocent by accident, so I want to learn more first. And I don't have a partner and I haven't been here long, so I can't answer that, sorry!

I think it's always best to wait until you have all the available information before coming to a decision, personally. Especially one as potentially important as risking your own life or the lives of others. And that's alright, I'm in the same position myself after all, I'm aware that not everyone can give me an answer.
