[...it's been way too long since Sapphire's seen a certain person. Nearly a week. During that time, she'd done some searching of the old-fashioned kind, running all over the city...but it's been a little over a week. She's no good with the communicators, but at this point anything's worth a try.]

[First, in the morning:]

Hey, Chief?

[Then, just before noon:]

Chief, ya out there at all?

[And around mid-afternoon:]

...Anyone seen Ling in a while? He hasn't shown up in a while...

[[ooc: Apologies to CR. I've been idle as hell for the past month, but hopefully I can kick myself back into action from here on out!]]

Good morning, Death City!

[One very chipper girl waves cheerfully at the mirror set up on the coffee table. She's currently relaxing on the couch, her non-broken leg pulled up against her chest while the broken and encased one dangles over the edge.]

Yesterday, I saw some very cute baby cats in an alley nearby, and I'd like to capture one when they're a little older. But before I can do that, there are some questions I need answered. The capturing mechanics of this world are very... [behind] different from my world?

So! I might not have the technology available to me that I did back home, but every good Coordinator knows how to improvise! I was thinking of using rope - does anybody know how to tie a lasso? Which stores sell rope in Death City? The convenience stores don't, for some reason.

...Although a box trap might do the trick. I saw a store that sold 'cat food' - that would make good bait, right?

Either way though, I'm pretty sure I'll need- [Haruka leans over to the coffee table and grabs what had previously been out of sight of the camera, displaying them once she's seated comfortably again.]

-these!

['These' being rocks the size her palm.]

You can't capture a Pokemon without weakening it first, after all. And since I don't have my Pokemon here to battle it with, these will have to do. I'm pretty sure they use rocks in the Safari Zone anyway, so there's obviously something about them that works.

I would be extremely grateful if someone were to answer my questions.

[And with that, she bows politely at the mirror before reaching over and turning it off.]

For anyone who wants to go looking for Excalibur, I have one word of advice: don't.  [It may have been a couple of days, but Erza's still annoyed by him.]  I don't know how something so annoying became so powerful...

Still, we'll probably need that level of power to end this conflict.  I suppose there's only one obvious course of action to take: I'll just have to become stronger than Excalibur.  [Yes, she's completely serious about this.]

I know it probably doesn't matter so much coming from me, but... thank you to all of you who went to Norway to fight a few days ago.

A lot of you probably got injured, or awfully sick. Staying still feels dreadful or just plain boring (I would know, really), but it's well-worth the victory. I salute you; you're all great people.

So. I was thinking, to the rest of us (and we're not few)! We should fold a thousand paper cranes and make a wish for everyone to get better. I found this origami guide in the library, so I'm going to demonstrate!

[Ta-da! It's a square piece of paper!]

You start, this way... [........................] Oh, oops, it was the other direction.

[...............

..........................................................

What are you doing boy.]

... Okay, this was harder than I thought it would be.

YO, people of Death City! I got somethin' important to talk about.

I dunno how far word has spread, but I've been told by a few people now that there's this legendary sword who gives the users ultimate powers and can win this war. Dunno why no one's tried to find it yet -- but I've been lookin'! It ain't in the toilet of Keroro's shop, by the way, Luna.

[ Natsu holds up the LEGENDARY BOOK OF EXCALIBUR. Then he flips through to show a picture of the sword embedded in stone. ]

It's apparently in this cave. So here's what I'm thinkin'. We go get it. We take a day to prepare a team and then go out and get our hands on the weapon. Lots of us wanna go home, right? Shibusen needs us to win the war, right?

[ He taps the book's cover with his hand. ]

This is our best shot. Who's with me?

*The feed starts with Clare putting the final touches centering it on a part of her apartment clean enough to do a video, and thee's a chair! So she'll be comfortable(-ish) while she talks to everyone. That's planning ahead! After tweaking the centering just a bit Clare walks into frame and sits down.*

I... I'm not the best at approaching people about things. Which is probably a sign I shouldn't be trying to do any of this, but given that's how I've been handling the past few weeks I probably need to do this anyway. *Clare pauses as she realized she's not two seconds in and she's rambling.*

*Deep breath.* I need a meister, or several. Either to go on missions with an escort, or to just practice with at training. I want to be more useful to the city, and I am competent at transforming already. So I might as well try to put that to work. I'm a shield, I just... don't handle large groups very well. Probably why I haven't managed much at Morning Training, well, ever.

That in mind, I would like someone to train me to fight one on one. Morning Training is great for the masses but I'm not going to get much stronger there. I know it, it isn't set-up in a way I can handle it. Selendis was training me before, but... she's not available right now. I'm not skilled, I'm practically useless in a fight right now even if I can partially transform. But I want to get better. That's enough, right?

I- I can get better, at everything. I know I can do more, just... I'm not sure how to get there. *She looks a bit more determined, just a bit. Still overall she looks very over her head. She sits quietly, like she might have more to say... but she walks over and cuts the feed.*

[good morning, death city. presenting you with a kind-looking lady who hides nothing behind a pleasant smile. she seems to be sitting in a kitchen as she records this, but other than that there is not much going on. she's finally gathered the courage to post on the network! her brother, sougo, did tell her to be careful--since not everyone was entirely a good guy? (maybe her brother was over protective.) whew. so she's actually going to take care of how much she says in public.]

It has been a few days since I arrived in Death City, and-- it took me a while to get the hang of working this mirror. I was very lucky to have my brother around to help me with it, otherwise I think it would have taken me much longer to understand. I'm told it is very convenient to use it to talk to others and ask about things that I'm not too sure about.

[so how about she starts with some very important issues at hand?]

Has anyone else noticed the two cute frogs who go pikopiko when they walk? They are very small, so I hope they have no problems getting around.

[--not, but seriously. makes a thoughtful expression for a moment before she speaks.]

Hmm... I do actually have a question to ask. Does anyone know where I could get the hottest red pepper or tabasco sauce? I've gone to a few stores but I have come out empty handed. The ones that I have seen getting sold are not very hot, so I wonder if there's a store I haven't been to yet.

Oh, sorry. Before I forget, my name is Mitsuba, and I would appreciate any help I can get on this matter!

[Have a incredibly proud and happy Toph, Death City. On video for once!]

So, Zone Leaders're supposed to introduce themselves, right? I know it's a few days late, but my partner and I just got promoted.

Toph Bei Fong, Zone Leader of the Entertainment and Red Light District. Nice to meet you.

[Yes, the blind thirteen-year-old girl who finally broke five-feet is the Zone Leader of the Red Light District.]

My partner is Temeraire, the big black dragon you might see around town. He is not a lizard, whatever anyone else might say. He's not a Poké-whatever, or an illusion, or a hallucination either. He's a dragon, and he turns into a six-foot sword. And I can use him. Remember that if you wanna cause problems in that part of town.

[And now she's more business]

Can I get a role call?

[The video starts with the camera shaking around. Through the shakiness, one can make out Hughes' knees and feet and possibly the floor.]

Here we go!

[The feed suddenly jerks up and the floor can be seen clearly, but the video starts moving around again soon after. The communicator is being waved.]

Record this! Record this!

[A hand takes the device, and it stops shaking excessively. Bakura replies.]

Okay!

[The communicator gets turned around and positioned properly. One can see Hughes is bandaged up and sitting in a wheelchair. Behind him is Amaterasu who is standing on her hind legs with her front paws set against the handles of the wheelchair. Bakura talks to the two of them.]

Everybody wave!

[Amaterasu grins and raises a paw to motion a wave. Her tail is wagging hard. Hughes grins and waves too.]

Look at what Ammy can do!

[Hughes jabs his thumb in her direction. Bakura speaks up and positions the camera so it's easier to see Amaterasu.]

Pretty impressive, ne?

[Amaterasu barks a couple times and pushes the wheelchair forward. Hughes starts laughing really excitedly and jokes between his laughter.]

Don't mind us! Just out for a stroll!

[Bakura laughs from behind the communicator and follows after as they move along. After a few more seconds, Hughes turns and waves his arm at Bakura for the communicator. He chuckles as he speaks.]

Okay, okay, that's enough of that. I think we all can see how talented Ammy here is now.

[He grins at Amaterasu. The camera shakes a little before the video feed is cut off. There is a text note beneath the video.]

Whoops.
Sorry! I was so distracted after that I forgot to post it up on the network yesterday. Thanks so much for helping me out, Bakura and Ammy!

[It seems the video was recorded some time in the afternoon the day before.]

[A kid with a huge blue hat blurs on the screen as he shakes the mirror.]

--this how you turn it on again?

[He grins.] Hi, Death City! Can you all hear me? Super, it works!

I'm Yugo! I guess you can call me one of the newbies. It's great to meet you all!

Is anyone else from the World of Twelve? I'm looking for my friends. I think some of them should be here. Evangelyne the Cra and Remington the Rogue! I didn't see any of them when I got here, so...

There's tons of people from other worlds here, right? Maybe we could all meet and get to know each other--it'd be cool to share the stories and adventures of our worlds! [Just the idea of sharing tales with brave otherworldly adventurers widens his grin!]

Man, things have been really hectic past few days. [With the monsters attacking the city and the number of people he had to rescue...and to top that, there was the Madness going on and those kidnappings he had heard about, orz] This whole war situation is worse than I thought...[And incredibly inconvenient when you’re only armed with your fists, as Zidane has discovered]....those monsters would have been less of a handful if I had my daggers with me...

So, I’ve been doing a little bit of thinking. It looks like I’m not gonna get far in this place without someone to partner with. So, I was wondering if anyone is still looking for a Weapon to go on all those missions? If you’re a girl and you’re cute, that’d be a bonus!

Er...Chika, you said you were up for a few missions? Is the offer still on?

[He is silent for a moment, his tail swishing from side-to-side in a more annoyed manner than he would usually do.]

Those ghastly attacks from the Witches from before - though that's nothing new, however it is still both very sad and very irritating. That, and with those people that have been taken...

[His tail stops, as he looks back at the Camera.]

It only makes me glad that I am going. I know not what I am to expect, exactly, except that I know that I will attempt to do my best to help my meister whilst we do battle. However, I shall most certainly not forget that our main objective is to bring people back home where they belong.

[Odd, when did Death City become "home" instead of, well...]

So for everyone that is going, pray do take care, and bring back our fellows back from the clutches of those witches.

As for those that are new arrivals -- I would think it depends on whether or not you have a partner, if you have the battle experience, and if you are confident in your abilities to participate in such an undertaking. However if you are, Godspeed.

I've been wondering something for awhile now...

Is it normal where you're from for girls to act however they want? Not that there's anything wrong with it! Only, back home they're usually expected to stay home and take care of babies and the only time I've seen a girl allowed to fight was during a barking revolution in an entirely different country so it's a wee bit strange to me.

...kinda like a Pokegear.

[The communicator is being handled when it clicks on, muffled shuffs and fwups being broadcast as someone turns it over in their hands.]

So I guess ya'd just-

[It cuts off and is silent for a few seconds. When the audio resumes, it sounds a lot more intentional.]

I've never lived in a city before, an' I know I've not set foot in any town as big as this one. An'...well, it's big.

[also the sun and moon are fucking creepy just saying]

An' it all kinda...smells funny, so I ain't sure where ta go fer food. Where d'ya find somethin' like that?

Am I usin' this right? How d'ya know when it's turned on...
